Story Telling – All About Children’s Rights

Families. Drop-in event. First come, first served. 
To celebrate Children’s International Day join us at the museum for a morning of storytelling about children’s rights and then design a poster you can take home.

Come and explore our Vintage Car Gallery and see how people travelled around Qatar many years ago. Then think about where you would like to travel and create some futuristic machines to get you there!

Meet & Draw a Falcon

Saturday 16, 4.00-6.00pm
Families. Drop-in event. First come, first served. In association with Al Gannas Association.
A chance for you to get up close to this magnificent bird and hear why it is such an important animal for Qatari culture. Then have a go at drawing it from real life.

Toddler Club

Monday 18, 9.00-10.00am
Years 12 months to 3 years of age.
Fee: 100 QR per child (carer must accompany children)

Get your little ones moving in a morning of artistic engagement through sight, sound and touch at NMoQ. Activities develop toddler motor skills and capabilities.

The Skill of the Qatari Tracker

Thursday 21, 5.00-7.00pm
Drop-in event. In association with QM Archaeology Department.
What skills do you need to be able to track an animal in a desert environment? How can you identify the different tracks of different animals? Come along to our drop-in session and meet Mr Faisal Al Naimi, an expert in the traditional ways of Qatari life in al barr (the desert). 

The Pearl of Life

Thursday 21, Saturday 23, & Saturday 30
Performances 6.00-7.00pm (Arabic) and 7.30-8.30pm (English)
Families. 40 spaces per performance.
Fee: 30 QR adults, 15 QR children.
Tickets can be purchased at the museum reception.
A fantastical piece of children’s theatre takes places in the galleries, immersing families in the story of a pearl diver called Salem and his wife Nila. Their story unfolds through storytelling, music and song with engaging actors and puppets.

Signs, Codes & Symbols

Friday, 22, 5.00-7.00pm
Fee: 100 QR per person
Suitable for ages 10-14yrs

The museum is full of unusual and interesting signs and symbols. Let’s start with our mysterious petroglyphs and then journey through the museum to see what else we can discover. 
The adventure ends with the chance to design your own codes. 

Look Up! What Do You See?

In collaboration with Astronomy Chapter of Qatar University Alumni Association, join an evening of interactive and exciting science-based activities linked to the stars, constellations and navigation.
