Sketching the Desert Rose (Adults) 

Saturday,13th and 20th; 9:00am-11:00am 

 This workshop introduces participants to the skills of architectural drawing on location. Using the fantastical architecture of NMoQ as a source of inspiration, participants will walk around the building to sketch its different angles. 

The workshop will be delivered by the artist Mr Ahed Al Khatib in Arabic and English.

Discovering Qatari Vernacular Architecture (Families) 

Art workshop+ guided tour (virtual or in- person) in Arabic and English 

Saturday, 20th and 27th ; 4:00 – 6:00pm 

Qatari vernacular architecture was influenced by Qatar’s trading links, which brought new styles, techniques and materials, while remaining rooted in the Islamic architectural style of the Arabian Gulf. Join this special event to find out more about features and elements of the vernacular architecture through our special guided tour.  

NMoQ artists will also lead an art workshop exploring the architecture elements of traditional Qatari mosque and use this as inspiration to create your own mosque model.

Architectural Monuments of the founder, Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani (General Public) 

Webinar via Zoom (Arabic) with Mr Mohammed Ali Abdulla 

Wednesday, 24th March; 6:00pm- 7:00 pm   

Qatar has a great balance of architectural heritage. Its protection is a necessity to preserve the society’s identity. This lecture will shed light on the most important monuments that were built by the founder of the State Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammad bin Thani.

Astronomical Observation (General Public) 

Thursday,18th March; 6:00-9:00 pm 

In collaboration with Qatar Calendar House, NMoQ presents astronomical observation by observing Doha’s sky. In Lets Observe the Sky, participants will observe the Moon, Mars and the brightest stars in this period: the Orion constellation and the Winter Pistol stars.  

This program will be delivered by an astronomer expert of Qatar Colander House in Arabic.

Mal Lawal 3 Roundtable (General Public) 

Location: Darwish Al Far Auditorium, NMoQ 

Wednesday, 31 March 2021; 6:00pm 

Participants will hear about the evolution of the Mal Lawal exhibition from the Mal Lawal 3 committee and explore its journey, starting from its first edition, to the current version, and what is in store for the future of this exhibition.  

This roundtable will be held in Arabic.
