SUMMER PROGRAMME TRADITIONAL QATARI CRAFTS AT NMOQ

July - August 2019

Introduction:

 

To celebrate the important role of traditional crafts in Qatar, NMoQ will host a summer of craft workshops and demonstrations, all culminating in a display of the created products in the final week. The various crafts consist of design and decorative patterns which are integral to Qatari identity.

NMoQ Seminar Day

LISTENING TO OUR VISITORS;
WHO ARE THEY AND WHAT ARE THEIR NEEDS?

The opening of NMoQ in March 2019 presents an ideal opportunity to investigate visitor profiles and patterns of visitation at NMoQ and other museums in Qatar.

The seminar day, the first of its kind in the country to specifically address the field of Visitor Studies, will be delivered through a combination of talks, group work and feedback sessions. A keynote address will be delivered by Professor John H. Falk, Executive Director of the Institute for Learning Innovation, Oregon State University.

An extensive programme of workshops and panel talks organised to celebrate the inauguration of the highly anticipated National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ). The Qatar Creates: Talks series of panel discussions will take place from 25 to 29 March 2019, giving the public in Doha access to a roster of leading cultural figures from Qatar, its region and around the world.
